Benelli Roberts

Just over eleven years ago my family and I were blessed with a handsome black lab we named Benelli. His birthday was July 30, 2011 and he passed away peacefully on December 3, 2022 while being held and comforted as he always loved. From the day we were able to take him home he was such a sweet, loyal, loving, caring, and vocal boy. I can remember as a pup him being restless missing his siblings and one of us either had to hold him or we had to wrap an old style ticking alarm clock in a cloth for him to think it was other heartbeats he was cuddled with. Every day we had with Benelli was a beautiful and joyous day. No matter if mom, dad, or I had a bad day or a great day Benelli was there to celebrate or comfort us without hesitation. He was so smart and had such a character I had never seen before. Just one example is him learning he could get fresh running water to drink from the tub faucet. From that day forward you could bet your dollar if you could not find him after he ate he was sitting at the tub waiting for you to turn the water on for a nice cool drink. Benelli would go anywhere and do anything you did. He enjoyed riding the dirt bike, lawn mower, 4 wheeler, tractor, and in the truck or car, he just wanted to go for rides. But we learned fast if we were not ready to go yet to never mention the word go or ride or you will have non stop barking that I am pretty sure he was saying hurry up and let's go. I could go on and on about how sweet this boy was but we just want our best friend to know how much he was loved and is loved and will be loved. We will never forget you Benelli and until we can hold you and see you and feel your kisses again, enjoy your younger non tired body and heart again and wait for us to get there with you. We Love You! You are our number 1 and best friend, truthfully a man's best friend.
